Tan Care

The Day Before Your Tan

  • Exfoliate with a non oil-based scrub & an exfoliating glove or rough cloth. This will remove dead skin and provide a new, smooth surface for your tan. Exfoliating promotes even coverage and lengthens the duration of the tan.

  • Shave/Wax at least 12-18 hours before your appointment.

  • Make sure your skin is free of lotion, deodorant, oils, make-up, etc.

  • Bring loose, dark clothing & open shoes (sandals).

  • If you are wearing a bikini/underwear try to bring black or dark colored.

  • DO NOT USE DOVE PRODUCTS! Dove soap/lotions leave a film on your skin that lead to a blotchy tan.

The Day of Your Tan

While your tan is developing

  • Wear loose, dark clothing throughout the developing time. You can rinse in 2-6 hours with the Rapid Tan and 8-12 hours with your Classic Tan. It can take 24 hours for your tan to fully develop. Try to wait 24 hours before using soap.

  • Avoid wearing tight clothing for at least 5 hours. This includes tight fitting jeans, bras, spandex, tight shirts and shoes/socks.

  • Do not get wet or sweaty as that may cause streaks or blotchiness.

  • All swimming, showering and vigorous exercise should be avoided for at least 5 hours as these can inhibit the development of your tan.

  • Do not shave for 12 hours after your tan.

  • Do not touch the solution with your palms.

  • If you are sleeping in the solution, wear long sleeves/long pants and avoid skin on skin contact as that can cause streaking. You can also use a towel as a barrier if you don't have long pants available.

NOTE:

When you take a shower, you will probably see some color/bronzer wash off. Don't worry:) This is normal.

After you shower - keep moisturized!

  • Moisturize daily.

  • Do not exfoliate your skin- no loofahs, abrasive products on your skin.

  • Stay away from oil-based products.

  • Always pat dry with a towel instead of rubbing. Rubbing can rub off your tan.

  • Water will fade your tan. Avoid long hot baths and showers, the pool, hot tubs, etc. as these can fade your tan.

  • Wear oil-free sunblock to protect your tan as best as possible.

Maximizing Your Tan

  • Do not use Dove soaps or other abrasive products that contain harsh chemicals that can take off your tan.

  • Use a tan extending lotion to help preserve the tan for 3-5 more days.

  • Use organic/natural made soaps
